Oil revenues of Yemen decreased until end of the third quarter of 2009 to $ 1.2 billion compared to $ 3.8 billion in same period of last year, according to a report of Central Bank of Yemen(CBY).

The report attributed such decrease to a decline of the Yemeni government's share from total crude oil exports during period from January to September of this year to 21 million barrels against 35 million barrels in same period of 2008 in addition to a decrease of the oil price in the global markets.

The cost of a Yemeni crude oil barrel was $ 58.5 during the first nine months of 2009 compared $ 112 for the barrel in same period of last year, the report said.

The report made it clear that the local consumption of oil increased up to 20.3 million barrels in nine months of 2009 against 17.6 million barrels in same period of 2008.
